We are fully aware that some of the biggest decisions, in a young child’s formative years, for both parent and child, comes in the form of selecting programs and activities that will provide your children, with an experience, education and environment that will be the most conducive to their long term development and happiness.

At MB Sand & Surf we appreciate that there are many sporting options available to pursue, so we wanted to take a moment to let you know why "MB Sand & Surf is the right place for your child to grow."

Manhattan Beach Sand and Surf lays claim to one of the finest coaching rosters in the country, with highly qualified coaches, who have tremendous backgrounds and experience in the game of soccer, but maybe even more importantly, our coaching staff are also first-hand proponents of our "positive coaching model" and committed to the long term development, progression and enjoyment of each player in their care and not so much focused on the won loss record, particularly in those early stages of a players development.

That’s not to say that we believe that winning isn’t an important part of the game!....Quite the contrary, but it is more important to us that our player's learn how to play the game, before they learn how to win and if you take a moment to study the successes and development of our established club teams, you will see that "winning" really is a natural by-product of our development process.

At MB Sand and Surf we also believe that every member of our organization holds the same status within our family. Whether you are a once year visitor to camp, or a year round committed club player, we want your experience to be outstanding. It is a little know fact that Soccer in the US is actually on the decline in terms of membership, and that over the past 3 years the national average for the retention of soccer club members has seen a 17% decrease across the board on a National Level.

MB Sand & Surf has however moved against the flow of the current trend and steadily increased membership in all aspects of our programming, from our Developmental Leagues - Camps - Academy and Competitive Club Teams......and this is not happening by accident!

So Why Are We So Successful?

• Our Coaching Staff: - Ask anyone who currently plays in any of our programs or has experienced witnessing our Sand & Surf Coaching staff in any capacity, and we are confident that they will tell you that our staff is truly outstanding on every front, regardless of program and regardless of the level that your child plays at. Our aim is to create a connection with every player and to make every experience a positive one, that will keep the players playing the game that they love. Our Coaching Staff is also committed to developing their own personal coaching expertise, through ongoing further education through the USSF and NSCAA organizations, and our coaching roster continues to grow, with annual, "quality additions" made when the right candidates become available. 
• Volunteers: - MB Sand & Surf is a volunteer based organization. Our Board of Directors consisits of many committed and talented indviduals, who work in their areas of expertise to provide an unrivalled experience for our players and membership, providing not only administrative support to our on-field programs, but also in the hosting of our Annual Sand & Surf Club Banquet, Our "Kicking it together" community project in conjunction with City Hospital, Club Photo day, Fund raising initiatives and many other, community/Club based events that our critical to us in complementing "Who we are" as a family organization.....and we are always looking for able and willing additions to our volunteer base.
• Parents: - Many Youth Organizations fail to understand the importance of parent participation and don’t see why it is essential to create a connection between each family and the programs in which they are committing so much time, resources and effort to! We believe that happy parents are a direct result of happy children and we make it one of our main goals to ensure that each parent is able to provide honest and open feedback of our programs and services, to ensure that we are consistently hitting the mark as an organization. We embrace parents and families and realize that we couldn’t possibly provide nearly as good a program without their commitment and support to the club.

MB Sand and Surf Soccer Club is extremely proud of the position that it holds in the lives of many children, parents and families here in the South Bay and we would like to think that as we grow, so does the bond with each of you!
